Veterinary conditions
The exhibitor must present a veterinary health certificate for all participating cavies, issued by a licensed veterinarian, confirming that the cavies are in good health. The certificate must not be older than three days prior to bringing the cavies to the show. It is not allowed to exhibit or sell pregnant or lactating females, cavies showing clinical signs of skin or other contagious diseases, cavies with ectoparasites, or cavies weighing less than 500 grams. At the arrival,there will be a short health inspection. Animals that do not pass this inspection, will be placed in quarantine.

I am a breeder of cavies and I live in a EU country. What do I need to participate in Nitra?
A: You need a veterinary health certificate issued by your vet, confirming that your cavies were examined and found to be in good health. The certificate must not be older than three days before bringing them to the show. -
I am a breeder of cavies and I don’t live in a EU country. What do I need to participate in Nitra?
A: The same rules as in the previous question apply to you. -
Do my cavies need to go into quarantine?
A: No, they don’t. However, after returning it is highly recommended to keep them separate from your other cavies for 10 days to make sure they didn’t catch anything at the show that could infect your other animals at home. -
I am a breeder of cavies. Can I put my animals for sale at the show and can they effectively be sold?
A: Yes, you can. There are no restrictions for selling cavies.
